Plumb ยท Last updated October 18, 2026
Plumb connects homeowners, renters and landlords with local home service pros, and gives pros their jobs, quotes and payments in one place. Plumb is operated by Navo Lab LLC. This page says what we collect, why, who else sees it, and how to delete it.
What we collect
If you request a job or a price
- What you type in: your name, phone number, email (optional), ZIP code and address, and the details of the job.
- Photos you choose to add: your equipment's label, the problem, or a written quote you want checked, including a photo you add when you ask the in-app assistant about a problem.
- Your voice, only if you tap the microphone: your phone's own speech recognition (Apple's on an iPhone, Google's on Android, or your browser's on the web) turns what you say into text in the message box, and you choose whether to send it. Plumb never receives or keeps the audio, only the text you send.
- Your account, if you sign in: your phone number, a sign-in session, and any name or email you add.
- If you choose Continue with Apple or Continue with Google: an ID that Apple or Google gives us for your account with them (it is not your password, which we never see), the email address they share (with Apple you can choose to hide it, and we then get a private relay address), and your name if you share it. We use these only to sign you in; your phone number stays how we reach you.
- If you choose Continue with a text message: the text you send to our sign-in number, which our text messaging provider passes to us. It comes from your phone number, and that is how it proves the number is yours. We use the number and the code in it only to sign you in, and delete the sign-in record within a day.
- If you text our number instead of using the app: your phone number, what you write, the pictures you send, and our replies. The number is how we know it is you (it becomes your account, the same one the app signs in with), and we use the texts and pictures only to handle your request, the same way as a request made in the app. Someone on our team may read and answer your texts, and an AI service (Anthropic's Claude, see below) may help write the replies. Reply STOP at any time and we will never text you again; reply HELP for help. Messages and data rates may apply.
- A random ID this app creates on your phone, so your jobs show up before you have an account, and a notification token if you allow notifications.
- Payments: when you pay for finished work, your card goes to our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we keep a reference to your Stripe customer and the payment record.
- Reviews you leave and messages you send to support.
- Messages you send to the pro on your job in the app, and theirs to you (see "Messages between you and your pro" below).
- Location, only if you allow it: your phone turns its location into a ZIP code on the device, and only the ZIP code reaches us. Every screen also lets you type a ZIP instead.
Your home profile (size, year built, equipment ages) and your maintenance schedule stay on your phone. The home details you share with a particular job go with that job.
If you are a landlord
- Your properties and units, your approval rules, and the names and phone numbers of the tenants you add. A tenant's repair only reaches you after they confirm the rental is theirs.
- When you send a tenant an invite, we text them once from Plumb with your name, the street address and a link to the app, and keep the date it was sent.
If your landlord shares their tenant link
- The page shows your landlord's name and the street address. If you leave your phone number (and, if you like, your name), it goes to that landlord only, to confirm you as their tenant. We do not text the number you leave there.
If a pro invites you, or you invite your pro
- A pro can send you their invite link or show you its QR code. The page shows the pro's name and the work they take. If you leave your mobile number or email there, we keep it only to connect your bookings to that pro once you sign in with it. We do not text the number you leave, and if you never sign in with it we delete it after 90 days.
- A pro can upload a list of their own customers (names, emails and phone numbers), after confirming these are their customers and they are allowed to email them. We use that list only to send that pro's invitation by email on their behalf and to recognise you if you join. We never use it for Plumb's own marketing, never text anyone on it, and never show it to anyone but that pro. Every invite email has a one-click unsubscribe; once you unsubscribe, no pro on Plumb can email you an invite again (we keep a scrambled form of your address, not the address itself, to honour that). Anyone on a list who has not joined 90 days after their invite is deleted.
- When you join through a pro, or invite the pro you already use and they join, you become that pro's customer on Plumb: a repair you book in their trades goes to them first, and Plumb takes no cut of what you pay them. You can still pick any pro for any job.
- If you send your pro your invite link, the page they see shows your first name, if your account has one, and nothing else about you.
If you are a pro
- Your application: business and contact name, phone, email, website, ZIP code, trades and license details.
- Your listing: description, logo, photos, business card, proof of insurance, the services you offer, your hours and the areas you cover. To fill in your listing we read your public website and your public Google Business Profile.
- Your prices: rate cards, price lists you upload, and the quotes you send.
- Your customer list, if you upload one to invite your customers: see "If a pro invites you" above for how we use it. You confirm you may email the people on it; we send your invitation from "your company via Plumb", with replies going to your email, and we record each email sent and every unsubscribe.
- Messages you send to homeowners about their jobs in the app, and theirs to you.
- Your calendar, only if you connect Google Calendar: we read when you are busy (not what your events say) and add the jobs you confirm through Plumb, and we remove them if a job is cancelled. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
- Payouts: Stripe collects the identity and bank details it needs to pay you. We keep a reference to your Stripe account.
- Your precise location, only while you drive to a job: from the moment you tap On my way on a confirmed job until you arrive (you tap I'm here, or you reach the address), your phone sends where it is about every 15 seconds. On an iPhone that continues with the app closed or the phone locked; on Android it happens only while the job screen is open. Only the homeowner of that job sees it. We keep only your latest point, never your route, and delete it when you arrive, when the job stops being yours, or three hours after you set off at the latest. Nothing is shared before you tap On my way or after you arrive. To draw the road on the homeowner's map, the point you set off from and the job's location (as map coordinates, nothing else) go to Apple Maps once when you tap On my way, and again only if you leave that road; we keep the planned road until you arrive, never the path you actually drove.
If we called your business
- When a homeowner needs a pro we do not have yet, we look up local businesses in that trade on Google and use their public business listing: name, business phone number, website and rating. An automated calling service we use may call that business number. The call says at the start that it is an AI assistant calling for Plumb. We keep what the business told us (whether they want jobs, their availability, when to call back, and notes from the call). Say you do not want calls and that number is never called again. The calling service receives the business listing and a short description of the job (the trade, the ZIP code and when); it never receives the homeowner's name, phone number, email or address.
From every device
- Error reports when something fails: what failed, the screen, the app version and whether it was iOS, Android or the web, so we can fix it.
How we use it
- To get your job done: your job details, photos and contact information go to the pro who covers that job in your area, so they can give you a price and do the work. If you are a tenant, your request also goes to your landlord for approval. When your pro taps On my way, you see where they are and about how long until they arrive; to work that out, their phone looks up your address on its own maps service.
- To estimate and explain: photos, quotes, price lists, job descriptions and messages to the in-app assistant (with any photo you add to them) are processed by an AI service, Anthropic's Claude, to read equipment labels and quotes, suggest what a problem probably is, and help pros prepare estimates. We send only what that task needs, and Anthropic does not use it to train its models.
- To make those reads better: we keep the photos you send for a read, what the read said and what you answered, and compare them with what the pro found on the job. We use this only to check and improve the app's own reads. Deleting your account deletes those photos and what you wrote, and unlinks the rest from you.
- Messages between you and your pro: when a pro sends you an estimate or takes your job, the two of you can message each other in the app. Plumb stores those messages. Only the two of you see them; our team reads them only when one of you reports a problem, or to settle a dispute about that job. A new message is delivered as a notification, or, if you have none turned on, as a text that says who wrote and the start of the message. Calls to your pro are ordinary phone calls and never go through Plumb.
- To keep you updated: texts and notifications about your own jobs, and new jobs for pros. You can turn each kind off in Profile, then Notifications. No marketing texts, ever. The only marketing email is a pro's own invitation to their own customers, described above, and it carries its own unsubscribe link.
- To run the service: preventing fraud and abuse, fixing errors, and keeping records we are required to keep.
Who else processes it
Only the companies we use to run Plumb, each for that purpose: Stripe (payments and payouts), Anthropic (the AI reads above), TextBelt and Twilio (sending texts; Twilio also receives the texts and pictures you send to our number), Apple and Google (Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google, only if you choose them), Expo, Apple and Google (delivering notifications), Apple and Google (the maps on your phone, which turn a location into a ZIP code and, on a pro's phone, find a job's address for the arrival estimate), Apple Maps (the driving route from a pro's starting point to the job's location, as coordinates only, when the pro taps On my way), Apple and Google (speech recognition on your phone or in your browser, only when you tap the microphone, which turns what you say into text before anything reaches us), Google (Calendar for pros who connect it, and public business listings), an automated calling service (calls to businesses from their public listing, inviting them to join; it never receives a homeowner's details), Resend (emailing our own team about new jobs and errors, and sending a pro's invitation to the customers on the list they upload) and Replit (hosting and our database).
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
- We do not show ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not use third-party analytics.
Deleting your data
- Homeowners, renters and landlords: in the app, Profile, then Delete my account. Your account, your sign-in (and its link to your Apple or Google account, if you used one), your properties and tenant list, your saved card and this phone's notification settings are deleted, and your name, phone number and address are removed from your past jobs. Your connection to any pro you joined through, your invite links, and your details on any pro's uploaded customer list are deleted too. The messages you sent to pros are deleted (the pro sees "Message removed") and those conversations are closed.
- Pros: in the app, My info, then Delete my company account. Your listing comes down, and your contact details, photos, prices, areas, calendar connection, devices, invite link, uploaded customer list and your customers' connection to you are deleted. The messages you sent to homeowners are deleted (they see "Message removed") and those conversations are closed.
- Records of finished work and payments stay, without your personal details, because both sides of a job and the law need them.
- For anything else, or if you can't use the app, email us and we will delete it.
Children
Plumb is not meant for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
